There are no dumb questions in Liz’s office, and if you are wondering about something, just ask.
Here are some frequently asked questions that may be helpful to you. Please don’t hesitate to email Liz if your question is not here. You can always talk to Liz before you make your decision if Liz or counselling is the right fit for you.
How many sessions will I need?
The pacing of the work is crucial and you will discuss this with Liz as you meet.
Scheduling is often weekly in the beginning. Many variables influence the scheduling of sessions, often it will be every two weeks or longer if that works best.
How long does a session last?
A session is an hour long.
What if I need to take a break?
The work may be a few sessions or many, each person varies. It is not uncommon to take a break from therapy and to return as needed. We may sprain our ankle, get seriously ill, or get a cold more than once in a lifetime, and that does not stop us from seeking help. Mental health should be no different.
What is EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) (click to learn more) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma and many other mental health problems.
Do you have direct billing?
Direct billing works for VAC and WCB clients.
